Blooms of Promise: The April C. Harmon Foundation and the reason for our flagship scholarship program.
Every great bloom starts with one small seed...
The “Part of the Promise” Scholarship Program aims to support several graduating seniors from across Norfolk Public Schools’ . Paying homage to April's roots as a dedicated educator, each school’s counseling department will nominate several promising young seniors for the award.
Each nominee, regardless of their background and future interest, will have been nominated for their honorable character and commitment to becoming a beacon of hope and change in their community.
These nominees have made a commitment to reaching their full promise and potential by continuing to further their education and skills at any of the nation's phenomenal accredited HBCU or vocational school.
This year scholarship recipients each received a single year $1,000 scholarship award to support them as they begin their journey to fulfill their full promise and potential.
